The camera is serviced:

1) Fully disassembled;

2) Critical inner parts are washed in ultrasonic bath with special detergent; 

3) Old glue is removed from curtain drums, the curtains re-glued;

4) Old defective curtains with holes or even with hardened areas are replaced;

5) All glass parts of viewfinder are washed, defective optical parts are replaced;

6) All gear is carefully assembled back; 

7) Lubricated with special high quality lubricants;

8) Infinity focusing is checked with the ground glass (FED1: Infinity focusing is checked by direct measurement of flange focal distance);

9) Rangefinder is calibrated by two test points.

The lens is serviced:

1) Disassembled;

2) Critical inner parts are washed in ultrasonic bath with special detergent; 

3) Lubricated with special high quality lubricants;

4) Any defective parts are replaced;

5) Fog, haze or fungus are washed out from glass elements; 

6) Infinity focusing is checked with collimator;

7) If necessary, calibrated for accurate infinity focusing.

The camera was recently repaired at Synotics Service Center. The shutter is fast and accurate, the viewfinder is clean, and the rangefinder is calibrated correctly. Lens is clean, no glass damage (cleaning marks possible), rings are smooth, aperture works as it should. Lens produces sharp and clear images on film shutters.

This copy of the Zorki 4 was manufactured 67 years ago. It is a collector's item. There are hardly any whole cameras of this age left.  They are all poorly preserved to this day and have been repaired many times. A lot of dirt, insects and mold inside, lost fasteners, inept home repair of cameras by Soviet people - all this leads to the fact that we have to make the camera again! It takes many days to get it working again.
That is why this 1957 camera is so expensive.
It would make a great gift for a collector. Beautiful camera!
