Steinberger is a brand widely embraced by many musicians as a representative of Headless Guitars/Basses. Founded in 1980 by Ned Steinberger, originally a furniture designer.
Before founding the company, Ned collaborated with Stuart Spector, and in the late 1970s, he designed the beautiful body of the NS series, Spector's flagship model. (NS stands for Ned Steinberger's initials)
Ned shattered the conventional wisdom of electric guitars/basses, introduced the use of double-ball end strings, and realized the groundbreaking headless structure. He created the iconic headless bass "L2," initiating the headless boom of the 1980s. Evolving with the times, Steinberger has continued to be beloved by many guitar/bass players to this day.
