He showed up at Stories Comics, still open, in Richmond, Va. to do signings of stills or product of your choice for a small fee that was going to his charity. The year was 1999 I believe. My friend and I got there early and had around 20 people in front of us. Waited patiently for our turn. When I stepped up, I couldn't believe it, I got star struck. I stepped up, unable to say anything. He asked me what he was signing, I gave him my book. He asked if I wanted it signed to anyone. I mumbled something, no perhaps, he signed it, handed it back to me and said there you go. I walked away in a daze. My friend was like, "Dude, the Dark lord of the Sith asks you if you want him to write something and you don't say anything?" Yeah, not one of my best moments.
