This wooden antique , hand-held mirror has a lot of history.  It was made in the latter part of the 1800s and has some scuffs and small dings from all its years of use.  At some point the original mirror was removed and a new one was installed, and its back was replaced.  The new back is held in place by small nails. The mirror itself is in perfect condition.  It is 13" long from the top of the mirror to the end of the handle. The round part of the wooden frame is 7" in diameter and the mirror itself is 5.5" in diameter   This mirror would be a great addition to a lady historical reenactor's kit. It has a primitive look that would go well with the impersonation of an average woman living in the times of the Civil War, or even before that.  It is sturdy and still has a lot of life left in it. Otherwise, it is still very useful and would display nicely.
