Gary Barlow (born 20 January 1971) is a British singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and television personality from Frodsham, England. He is the lead singer of the British pop group Take That. Barlow is one of the United Kingdom's most successful songwriters, having written fourteen number-one singles (ten with Take That, three solo, one with Robbie Williams "Candy") and twenty-four top-ten hits. Barlow has received six Ivor Novello Awards from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, including the award for Outstanding Services to British Music. He has sold over 50 million records worldwide. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) at the 2012 Queen's Birthday Honours for his services to the entertainment industry and charity.
