Mains-powered optical (photoelectric) smoke alarm that can be interlinked by cable with up to 23 other Kidde branded mains alarms. Once interlinked, the detection of the relevant danger by an individual unit will sound across all the connected alarms. Back up provided by long life lithium non replaceable battery.
Optical alarms are for use in escape or circulation routes and in areas where there is a danger of ignition of furniture and surroundings by cigarettes producing slow, smouldering fires.
These alarms comply with UK Building Regulations for new housing and associated standards (Grade D BS 5839, Part 6).
Not for use in kitchens, boiler rooms or garages (use KF30LL Heat Alarm instead).

Cabling requirements:-
1.0mm or 1.5mm 6242Y Twin & Earth cable to the first alarm position, then 1.0mm or 1.5mm 6243Y 3 Core & Earth cable from the first alarm position to the second alarm and so on in a "radial" or "daisy chain" type circuit arrangement.
