A chic Piscitelli gold tone brooch designed as a branch with gold tipped leaves enameled from maroon to pink. This pin is from the 1950's. The back is marked "PIM." It's in very nice condition with a couple of spots where there is enamel loss. It has a roll around clasp that works perfectly. It measures approximately 2 7/8" long and 1 1/4" wide.
Joseph P. Piscitelli, Sr. founded his jewelry brand PIM in the late 1950s. He was an American designer from Italy. Before starting his jewelry company he was a designer for Star Manufacturing Co. He only used his PIM mark through the 1950's. In 1960 he renamed his company to Piscitelli. It was a family owned business with a small staff of designers and craftsmen that created high end costume jewelry by hand. Traditionally, the craftsmen used the highest quality materials – gold-plated metal alloys, sterling silver, Austrian crystals and art glass, rhinestones and enamel.
