Ibanez AR350 Super Edition Refinished Ferrari Red 1986 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Ibanez AR350 Super Edition in a refinished Ferrari Red and painted Black binding finish. Built in Japan in 1986, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with a carved Maple top, 3-piece Maple neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Ebony fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with Gold hardware including a set of Ibanez "W" Smooth Tuners and a set of SureGrip II control knobs. A Ibanez Edge Licensed by Floyd Rose tremolo is featured along with a Locking nut. The pickups are a pair of Super HB-58 humbuckers, these are wired to a 3-way selector, bridge volume, bridge tone, neck volume, neck tone and two Tri-sound coil-split mini-toggles

The 3-piece Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘AR’ profile feeling slim, allowing for fast and easy navigation up and down the neck. The 12” radius provides a great playing surface allowing for bending and vibrato techniques and the double cutaway body allows unobstructed access to the higher register, great for those fast lead lines. The smaller, more compact size of the body makes it easier to play for extended periods of time compared to larger semi-hollow guitars but not diminishing from the overall tone.

The Super HB-58 humbuckers in this guitar offer a full, thick tone. The Super HB-58 humbucker in the neck position offers all the soloing clarity you could wish for, with sweet sustain and a warm, full sound that still possesses a clear attack providing a hot output delivering smooth, fluid solo tones under gain, while still being capable of bell-like clean tones. The middle position sounds punchy, with driving mids along with crisp and clear highs making for a nice blend of the two pickups. The Super HB-58 humbucker in the bridge provides a fat and punchy humbucker-like sound, making power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones with broad tonal dynamics. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone making harmonics sing with a bell like tonality.  The Tri-Sound system allows each pickup to be switched from standard humbucking operation to single coil and parallel coil modes, for a wealth of tonal colours, making this instrument great for tonal sculpting to the player's desired taste.

Aesthetic Condition:

Overall good condition. Light scratching is present to the front face, only visible under direct light from certain angles. A small finish repair is visible to the bass side of the top side edge. 

Overall good condition. The neck has been repaired near the nut from a break and the finish has been touched up by the previous owner. Light chipping to the finish is visible across the rear of the neck, most noticeably to the bass side at the 2nd fret and to the treble side around the 7th fret. The binding presents discolouration and a further crack is present to the heel of the neck. This does not flex under pressure and therefore causes no structural concern. A thumb print is present in the paint at the treble side of the neck joint, this can be felt under the fingers.

Overall good condition. Light scratching is present to all aspects of the body, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the treble side of the front face, consistent with the use of a plectrum. Light denting and chipping to the finish is present across the whole body, most noticeably to the lower bout side edge. A larger chip to the finish is present to the bass side edge of the waist. A hole where a strap button has been installed by the previous owner is present to the treble side horn, this is still visible.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any light fret work the new owner may wish to perform. 

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (socket 5/16")

Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear and oxidization. The B tuning machine is slightly bent but should not worsen over time.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
