Alhambra 5P Gloss Natural Handcrafted Classical Guitar

Here for sale we have an Alhambra 5P classical guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Handcrafted in Spain,  this guitar features a Spanish Heel construction comprising a Solid Cedar top, Laminated Indian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck and 19 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound, with multi-stripe purfling and a handsome back strip. The Rosette is hand inlaid with wood into a traditional Spanish pattern. This guitar is fitted with a Melamine saddle and nut, along with ornate Gold coloured tuning machines.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with what might be described as a shallow 'D' shape profile that offers comfortable playability in all registers. The 2.045" nut width is traditional for classical guitar and provides great string separation for accurate fretting. The Ebony fingerboard is luxurious under the fingers, and with its traditional flat radius is perfect for the classical musician, allowing for smooth and accurate playing across the fretboard.

The voice of the Alhambra 5P is open and clear, delivering a unpronounced yet detailed low end, a precise mid range and and sparkling top end that brightens up the overall sound of the instrument. This makes the guitar equally at home as a solo instrument or part of an ensemble. The Cedar top projects very well, and offers a wide dynamic range that feels very sensitive to the players touch. This is a finely crafted classical guitar with traditional appointments, perfect for any classical musician.

Luthier Report

Our ID: 12712236790

Weight: 3.95lbs

Serial: CLbBKR

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. A light lacquer crack is present to the treble side edge of the front face, close to the G machine head. Light scratching to all surfaces is visible under direct light from certain angles, as is common with high gloss finishes.

Neck: Overall very good condition. Light scratching to the fingerboard is visible under direct light from certain angles. The previous owner painted fret marker dots to the frets. We have done our best to remove all of this, however some paint does remain in the grain, but is only visible under close scrutiny. This can not be felt under the finger in the playing position. Light scratching into the finish is present to the rear of the neck, most noticeable to the lower register behind frets 1-3, lightly felt under the finger.

Body: Overall very good condition. The bass side edge of the front face shows a mild indentation which cracks the finish at the lower bout. Light scratching to all surfaces of the body is visible under direct light from certain angles, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most noticeable across the lower bout side edge. Very light denting is present to the rear face, lower bout bass side.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
