 Vintage Top Grain Leather Garment Bag 

 made for a short time between the 1970s & 1980s.

Only some small cases, made by Gorky for ORVIS, were all Leather, but most cases and larger luggage pieces were made of Canvas and leather trim, that is why this particular ORVIS Top Grain LEATHER Garment Bag is so rare. 

Made around 1970s, 80s, this ORVIS leather garment bag (really luggage), is large, and is made of thick Top Grain Leather so, perfect for the big guys! 

When carried by its handle or shoulder strap, the garment bag is folded in two, and measures 24" x 20".  When opened, it measures 24" x 40".  

The main compartment can take shirts, jacket, and pants. While the case is still open, you can access, several smaller zippered compartments.  At the front of the case,  are two large zippered pockets 4" high, for shoes and toiletries.  There is a embossed ORVIS logo under the carry handle, and a large ORVIS leather name-tag, attached to the carry handle.

Inside the clothing compartment and the two large zippered extensions at the front, are some foam inserts added to keep the leather in it's proper shape, when Garment Bag is not in use.

Younger buyers today, can ask, "what's the big deal with a name like ORVIS", and us "grey" types, can well understand their sentiment .... The sad fact is that the ORVIS of today, is not what it used to be!  Back in the day though .... it was something!  Top Quality in everything they sold.  So, if are not crazy about new men's accoutrements being sold today, try finding Vintage ORVIS ones  .... if they are in good condition, you will not be disappointed.
