ORIGINAL 1980 HIROSHI ASADA (1931-1997) HISTOIRE DE L'EAU LIMITED EDITION 10 ETCHINGS FOLIO IN ORIGINAL SILK CLAMSHELL

This is a great piece. This piece comes from a dealer I do some business with.  It is the kind of piece that I love to own and sell.  This is a wonderful collection of 10 original etchings by important Japanese artist Hiroshi Asada.  Unfortunately, Asada took his own life early in his career so his work is not out there very often.  For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below.  This is a wonderful scarce original folio of work that the artist did based on water.  10 original color etchings, each signed and numbered 53/99 in pencil below the image.  The images are really stunning.  The folio is complete with the cover page as well as the description page about the production with the limited edition. That is also signed in pencil by the artist and the publisher.  Original silk covered clam shell is beautiful and complimentary.  Really just a complete package.  The folio measures 14 1/4 x 13 3/4 inches.  Do your own research on the artist and this work.  You can see some of these individual prints selling for a few hundred alone.  FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES!

For those not familiar with the artist, his biography from a dealer that sells the artist's work reads: "Hiroshi Asada (1931-1997) is a Japanese painter and etcher, born into a family of nihonga, painters working according to the conventions of the traditional Japanese painting. After studying economics at the Kyoto University, he devoted himself to painting in the tradition of Western masters, influenced by Shinseisaku Kyokai. His works dealt with the psychology of everyday life, through still lifes, with a touch of surrealism. In 1983, ill, he returned to Tokyo and committed suicide in 1997. He was the subject of a retrospective in 2007 at the National Museum of Modern Art of Kyoto to celebrate ten years of his death. "
