Thrifting find. Vintage door-mount shopkeeper's entry door bell; circa 1950s is my best guess. It's about 12" from top to bottom and would extend about 5.5" from the mounted surface. Two screw holes for mounting. It reminds me of the ones in the old mom-and-pop grocery or hardware stores of days gone by. It would add a nice touch of quaint nostalgia to your small shop or business, while being useful as well. It could be painted, polished up, or left as is. Lots of possibilities! There is a good amount of rust and tarnish, especially on the iron clapper and iron ball on top of the bell. Also bits of paint here and there. There is pitting and peeling to the chrome bell itself, and scratches as well. There are tattered and stiff remains of a leather cord that is tied inside at the top of the clapper, presumably to ring the bell by hand at one time. Please take a look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions. Shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. I pack with care.
