For sale is a set of 7 Meissen Reicher Court dragon (green) plates. These plates are beautifully decorated with phoenix birds and dragons with gold accents and a gold rim. The original Meissen court dragon pattern was believed to come from a Chinese motif. The long dragon represented the emperor and the phoenix bird was a symbol for the empress, who stood for wisdom and benevolence. These are wonderful examples of how the Meissen court dragon was beautifully painted in the nineteenth century
decorated with a green dragon, phoenix bird motif, scalloped edge with gold trim, 1st quality, underglaze blue crossed swords mark with an impressed number on the bases. Made in Germany. Highly collectible! 

Excellent condition with bright white background, shining gold elements, and vibrant colors  The majority have no chips, repairs, cracks, or crazing. 
The set  includes: 
- 7 x butter and bread plates, 5.25 inches in diameter. excellent condition, 1 plate has very minor rubbing to the gold rim
