Not content with re-writing the rules for electronic drivetrains with the latest eTap AXS groupset, SRAM went one step further and created a cassette to match. The Red XG-1290 Cassette uses SRAM's XDR freehub design to change the way we think about road bike gearing.

Working in conjunction with the latest SRAM Red AXS DUB chainsets, the XG-1290 Cassette is designed to give riders more choice for their gearing, with a wider range and closer steps between ratios.
The XG-1290 uses an XDR driver body with technology derived from their XD driver body. This enables SRAM to create a cassette with a 10-tooth start, the same as their mountain bike cassettes. Combined with a 12th ratio, this means the XG-1290 provides a wider gear range, with more gradual progression between ratios; each cassette has at least five one-tooth jumps between cogs.
