Runs Great!

  1. Elgin was a reputable American watchmaker known for producing high-quality timepieces during the late 19th century, so it's no surprise that the movement is still functional given its history. I've been testing it for days and it's as acurate as my Citizen eco-drive quartz.

  2. Material: The pocket watch is crafted from 14k yellow gold, which was a common choice for luxury items during the Victorian era. The case, including all three hinged covers, is made of Solid yellow and rose gold. The outside covers Tastefully finished with hand scrolled engraving, symbolic of the time.

  1. Design: The watch features intricate detailing typical of Victorian-era (late 1800's)design. The front cover stands out with its rose gold engravable shield, adding a touch of elegance and personalization. Victorian designs often incorporated elaborate patterns, engravings, and motifs, reflecting the ornate aesthetics of the time and its back cover is accented in a rose floral design.

  2. Movement: The fact that the movement is in good running condition suggests that the watch seems to have been well-maintained over the years. However, it's worth noting that periodic servicing and maintenance are recommended to ensure optimal performance, standard in all mechanicals.  Since it's last servicing I cannot guaranty time accuracy or warranty the movement. At this time it's running an keeping time decently.

  3. Condition: While the movement is in great running condition, it's mentioned that it hasn't been overhauled recently.

Authenticity: Given the age and historical significance of the watch. Authentic Victorian-era pocket watches, especially those from renowned manufacturers like Elgin, can be highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
