Sir Henry Rider Haggard KBE (22 June 1856 – 14 May 1925) was an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations, predominantly Africa, and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. This is a set of 8 of his novels, spanning 1895 to 1906, all published by McKinlay, Stone, & Mackenzie, New York.

The books are hardbound in burgundy cloth, with front covers stamped in black and what appears to be gilt. The spine is also stamped in what appears to be gilt. The covers and spines are showing age-appropriate wear and fading, but are all still legible. Each front endsheet is stamped with the owner's name. Text blocks are in great shape. The books measure 5"x7-3/4".
