This vintage art deco lidded ewer jug is in very good antique condition.

A quality piece in lovely original condition. James Dixon & Sons was one 

of the best makers of silver plate Only a few very light scratches as

 you'd expect with use. The ribbon tied swags around the body adjacent to 

the shoulder are nice and crisp. Lid and hinge operate correctly. It has the 

inserts in the handle to prevent it from becoming hot and therefore burning 

one's hands. Stamped, 'James Dixon & Sons Sheffield  to the base. 

This backstamp was introduced in 1921 and used throughout the

 1920s. A very pretty and useful little jug.
