Airfix 1/32 (54mm) Multipose Military Figures - Type 5 Packaging released during the period 1976-79

Newly introduced in 1976 these multi-part figures were scaled to the popular "Toy soldier" scale of 1/32 or 54mm. Separate heads, arms, legs & torsos allowed several poses to be made if the main body parts were swapped around. Finely sculpted these figures included separate weapons and equipment, as well as a strip of thin plastic card to make the equipment straps. Moulded in conventional plastic model hard styrene plastic not the polythene of Airfix's other figure ranges.

 This Type 5 style of packaging continued the use of the classic style circular Airfix logo. But following the entry of the UK into the EEC, dual language (English & French) text appeared on the boxes and artwork appeared across the whole box top with titles superimposed. Alternative markings schemes were featured on the side panels. This style was In use from 1975 through to the introduction of the oval Type 6 logo at the end of the 1970s.

If you are purchasing to build please remember that some of these are approaching 50+ years old.
Whereas the plastic parts will be a lot sharper than more recent re-releases, the decals themselves will be slightly suspect due to their age. These should be used with caution, possibly with the use of something to prevent any possible breaking up of the decal such as Microscale's liquid decal film or a varnish coat. Some may well be fine but "Best to test"
