Being just across the state I wasn't surprised when I ran across this fine historic publication years ago. But I didn't realize how rare they might be to actually find. What a history for editor Edward Gardner Lewis. He founded the town, University City, MO as well as Atascadero, CA, Founded and edited this incredible small historic publication geared toward woman's rights, political and social awareness, knowledge, and equality.
He also founded both the American Woman's League in 1907 and the American Woman's Republic in 1911 as large steps toward the right to vote, Woman's Suffrage, equality, and a strong political voice. The front page boasts having the largest staff of special correspondents to Washington and the largest pre-paid subscription of any daily newspaper in the country. Just reading through the included articles in the photos you can understand what a motivated and serious publication this paper was. Also what a historic figure the editor was. As I stated I really cannot find another issue available for a fair value price comparison, but I am open to any supplied information along those lines. Very happy to pass this historic work along to an appreciative new home, so as usual I offer free shipping a worthy charity donation and use the Best Offer format to acknowledge all fair buyer considerations.
