Antique Gold Plated Brass Blue Floral Enamel

French Opera Glasses or Binoculars - circa 1900

These fine antique gold plated brass French opera glasses or binoculars are beautiful and useable and we estimate they were made in the early 1900s. The adjustment knob works and the beautifully decorated barrels expand all the way (to 2-⅝ inches). It has both eye pieces , but one is cracked.

The beautiful blue enamel on the barrels is decorated with tiny gold stars and silver leaves along the eye pieces and end of the barrels. The insides of the four ovals are decorated with pansies on one side and pink peonies or roses on the other side.

The widest dimension of the gold plated brass French opera glasses is 4 inches and they weigh 6 ounces. The steel screw between the two eye pieces is original.

Our pictures show the actual antique French opera glasses offered for sale and clearly show its tiny defects. The lenses are not chipped or cracked and there is only minor wear to the plating considering age. While not perfect, they are nonetheless a magnificent pair of antique enameled French opera glasses in far better than average condition.
