This is an original 1953 paper cover printing of "A Cat Becomes Contented," an early-grade elementary reader written by Arthur I. Gates & Celeste C. Peardon, beautifully illustrated by Charles Payzant and associates, and published by The Macmillan Company as part of its "The Macmillan Readers" series.

Overall, the copy being offered is in fair condition. As you'll see in my first three photos, the covers have noticeable wear, particularly in the corners and along the spine, and there are a lot of smudges, including a blue smudge over the word "A" on the front cover. Inside, the pages are clean, crisp, and strongly bound, with no writing or marking.

Please review my photos and feel free to message me if you have any questions or if you would like to see more photos; the book shown in the photos is the exact book you will receive.
