Description
To hear the music box play two of the six melodies click on the videolink above or copy/paste the address into your browser.
A very good cylinder music box imported and retailed circa 1870 by Keith Prowse, 48, Cheapside, London. This one of the first smaller music boxes I have come across which is long playing with a double spring, usually found on far larger, grander models!
The music box plays a total of 6 different operatic melodies and everything is working as it should. The cabinet is complete and in lovely condition as pictured. Includes key to lock the lid closed.
Weighs 5.3kg before wrapping. The case measures 14.75" (37.5cm) wide, stands 4.75" (12cm) high and is 7" (17.5cm) deep. The 6" comb has all its 57 teeth/tips and the similar lengthed cylinder with very good pinning.
