Carved stone sculpture by David Wayaneetah, Cherokee, who grew up on a reservation in North Carolina.

I'm surprised I could only find one reference/article on him and his work.   It seems he had quite a prolific output for some years and sold to various celebrities: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Caroline Kennedy. John Belushi, John Candy,...ictnews.org article from 2006.  I'm guessing he would be 76 now.

The sculpture features a central bear figure reaching upward with the faces of 3 elders around it and the head of a raven (I think...).

Height is 6 1/2"  Width is 5"  Depth is 3 1/2"  Weighs 3 lbs 11.5 oz

(sn normally refers to signed and numbered but this appears to be hand carved.)

There are some scratches, tiny nicks,...minor.  Could be polished out??

Being sold in its lovely and charming as is condition.
