MINT CONDITION OVER-SIZED 4" X 6" POST CARD
ITALY Turin Sassi - Superga rack tramway in 1980
The historical Sassi – Superga rack tramway is the only one of its kind in Italy. It is the present-day continuation of a centennial tradition that started back in 1884 with the Agudio cable railway. At the outset, the train was powered by an engine operating a steel cable, which ran parallel to the tracks. In 1934 the line was converted in a rack tramway with traction provided by a central rack rail.
