Native to tropical Asia, this deciduous, semi-evergreen tree has smooth bark, and often irregular branching. 

The pinnate leaves appear in 3-8 pairs, deep green in colour. 

Prized for their magnificent display of large pendulous recemes of scented vivid yellow flowers in summer. 

Prefers a mild climate with moist well drained soil in full sun or part shade. 

Will tolerate light frost once established.
