A remarkable Post-Impressionist charcoal drawing, depicting peasants working in the countryside. Van Gogh produced representations of the countryside that reveal his nostalgic attitude and the biases of his class. Van Gogh was particularly taken with the peasants he saw working the countryside; his early compositions featured images of peasants and rural landscapes,or Van Gogh, landscapes were more than depicting a natural setting; they are celebrating nature, those that live within it, and those that work it.
The measurements of the drawing are: 28.6 x 19.8 cm. The artwork is signed Vincent, in the lower right of the artwork. The artwork is also marked and stamped on verso. With this artwork we will provide a letter of transfer of ownership to the new owner, a COA which came with the artwork, a registration certificate with National Fine Arts Title Registry and a transfer of registry certificate to the new owner. The artwork is offered and documented as-is, as in manner of the artist. This work is was acquired in the French antique market few years back. The condition of the artwork is as pictured, in our opinion the artwork is in good condition for its age, we notice aging of the paper.
