This unusual10-strand necklace features black and white shell pieces, black beads with a brass clasp. The necklace measures 34 inches in length.  The natural shell pieces are white and purplish black (I think they've been dyed or painted).  The beads look like they have been strung together by machine and the stitch lends an airy feel to the necklace.  The shell and bead theme adds an earthy, ethnic touch to any outfit. The necklace is an original piece and its era and country of origin are unknown.
