Wonderful rare and vintage Robert E. Lee Biography by Douglas Southall Freeman Wooden Shipping Box. The antique wooden box is in good condition for its age, with some wear to the cover and edges. The box measures 14.25" long x 10.5" wide x 4.5" deep. The box may have been oiled or cleaned up with an oil based cleaning agents as there is a noticeable oil based smell.  There appears to have been some repair to the bottom corner of the box with some new nails and wood glue (see photos).
