Item #3270

This is an "occo" type of Brazilian geode.  You can always tell this type of geode by the swirly patterns in the polished edge of the geode.  Sometimes you can see the swirls on the outside as well.

This geode was first tumble polished and then was cut in half to form a "bowl" and lid.  The rims on each part are polished to show the beautiful patterns in the agate.  Except for inside it is 100% polished.   As you can see this geode is filled with sparkly druzy quartz crystals.  The top or lid is very thin and translucent.  When held up to the light the lid looks like stained glass.  It has a natural flat bottom so it sits well.

The piece weighs 2.5 oz. (71g).  It measures 2 3/8 inches long, 2 inches wide, and 1 1/8 inches high.  The color is best in the outside photos.
