Very scarce and hard to find signals patch... this example is a German Army WW2 Signals Trade Patch only to be worn by pioneer units. This is one of the tough to find. The majority of the examples currently on ebay are fake and not original. This is 100% a period vet bring back piece!

The patch is made from black embroidery on green wool / it has the cheese back style backing 100% period original! The rank in German is Tatigkeitsabzeichen fur Funker Der Pioniere. Patch was never used, does appear to have been stapled into a vet binder long ago, no moth nips or damage to speak of. Condition is excellent certainly never used!

A brief history the pioneer units are bascially what we would consider engineer units! They had under pioneer 4 different groups - Pioneer Troops these would be attached to regular units/ Construction troops- building bridges and major works / railway troops, prepping and building railway to move troops and weapons & technical troops these were for specialty works. This form of patch I believe would have been worn more by the 1st group as they were unit attached!

This was found w a rare waffen rank Pip also posted! Thanks so much for looking please check out my other militaria & collectibles!
