The rotary dial has a very smooth operation

The hook (on/off) switch does not stick and functions properly

It is still considered one of the most significant industrial designs of the 20th century. 

The main feature is the dial underneath the base

It can make and receive calls but on incoming calls, it doesn't ring.

I believe this to be because this phone was used as an extension telephone and the wire to the ringer was rerouted

I have seen on YouTube that there is a simple fix to the wiring to make it ring
