Scottish Black LEATHER Kilt SPORRAN and Belt 3 Tassels leather sporran

Shyne Kilts UK sporrans made by professional craftsman experts in Scottish products.

MATERIAL: Black Leather Sporran. Made of 100% pure premium leather.

CHAIN STRAP: Brass Chrome Finish Chain Strap. Free chain strap belt suitable for waists between 28" ~ 50".

SIZE OF SPORRAN: Leather sporran measures 8.5″ high and 7.5″ wide

SPACIOUS: Spacious panel, can carry mob phone, wallet etc. The word sporran is Gaelic for purse, and serves as just that for a traditional kilt outfit. Sporrans were born out of necessity to work as a pocket; and would be used to store coins, fire-making paraphernalia, as well as oats and onions!

HOW TO WEAR: A sporran is worn at the front of your kilt and should sit centre to your waistcoat. It should be sitting just underneath your waistcoat, but not touching. The leather straps at the end of the chain strap fasten together at the back and can be put through the kilt straps. The chain straps should always sit on top of the belt buckles to ensure the sporran does not fall down!

SPORRAN HISTORY: A survival of the medieval purse, the sporran was the Highlander's pocket they didn't have. They were simple in design and usually gathered at the top by basic drawstrings or by thongs with small tassels.

OCCASION: A more casual sporran, these are made entirely from black or brown leather and are used for less formal events. These sporrans may be worn with tweed day jackets, perhaps while supporting the rugby, or attending a Highland Games.
