WHAT IS A HYDROTHERMAL SYNTHESIS AUTOCLAVE REACTOE?

The Hydrothermal Autoclave reactor use to carry hydrothermal reaction at high pressure and high temperature, which adopts the external heating mode, is a kind of closed container to dissolve the refractory material .

There generally comes in a two variety: Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lined & PPL lined autoclave. Hydrothermal reactor mainly made up of two parts: outer stainless steel shell and inner PTFE liner or PPL chamber. In the Teflon-lined autoclave, the reaction is carried out at maximum 220-degree Celsius (428 Fahrenheit), while the safe temperature is 180-degree Celsius (356 Fahrenheit). PPL lined reactor use for the reaction operate at higher temperature, where the safe temperature will be 250-degree Celsius (482 Fahrenheit) and the maximum operating temperature is 280-degree Celsius (536 Fahrenheit). This product is widely used in catalysis, crystal, polymer and other experiments.

It could be used to pretreat the samples in atomic absorption spectrometry and plasma emission analysis, etc.

Also, it is suitable for small dose synthetic reaction, to rapidly dissolve the refractory material under the reactor inner strong acid or strong base and high temperature & high pressure airtight environment.

OPERATING GUIDE

Place the Autoclave and sterilizing material on the table.
Release the screw type threaded primary SS cap in an anticlockwise direction until it has been opened.
Lift the top lid and take-out the reaction chamber.
Fill solvent (as per liner's capacity) in the reaction chamber and sealed it. Make sure that the cap should be air-tight to avoid pressure leakage.
Place the liner in a stainless steel chamber.
Keep top gasket over the vessel and make sure that the vessel placed properly in the Stainless Steel chamber.
Then twist primary SS cap in a clockwise direction until it does not turn anymore.
The secondary SS cap has been given at the top of the primary cap for extra tightening to avoid pressure leakages.
Rotate primary SS cap in the clockwise direction with the help of locking rod for additional tightening.
Placed the hydrothermal autoclave in oven or furnace and heat it till reactor’s safe temperature.
Increase the temperature of the oven and set heating rate 5℃/minute only.
A researcher can heat the hydrothermal autoclave till 180℃ for safe use.
After completion of the hydrothermal synthesis reaction, the autoclave's cooling rate will be 5℃/minute.
Make sure that, after completion of the process clean the liner properly for reuse.
