Up for sale is a great Stanley No. 78 rabbet/rebate handd plane. An early example. Type 2 or 3, dating its manufacture to around 1901 to 1910. Very clean. The sole is smooth and flat. Includes the often-lost rod and fence, the depth gauge, and all other hardware. The 1 1/2" cutter is still pretty sharp and has the type J logo used on block plane cutters until around 1909. B casting mark. The japanning is about 90% intact, with some small patches missing on the handle. Will make a fine user with all the nice bells and wistles.
