Up for sale is a Vintage Abercrombie & Fitch PERFORMANCE Series CITY COMMUTER MESSENGER CROSSBODY BAG. The bag, made in the late 90’s to early 2000’s comes in Signature Navy Blue with yellow accents and trim.

This mid sized Performance Series style messenger bag. It measures approximately 12 tall by 16 inches wide by 8 inches deep. Since these bags were released, I’ve only seen 5 or 6 of this exact style bag.

The PERFORMANCE Series CITY COMMUTER MESSENGER CROSSBODY BAG is perfect for both commuters and couriers The adjustable and padded shoulder strap makes the bag as comfortable as it is stylish. This is the only bag made in the 90’s series that also has a zippered expandable bottom with doubles the overall depth of the bag. The Bag Features 1 Zipper Pockets On The Front Flap of the bag, Under the main top flap, which secured with buckles there are slots to hold 5 pens, and a smaller mesh zipper pocket for a wallet or phone as well as a key clip. The main interior of the bag has 1 l wide zipper pocket the width of the bag and the main compartment of the bag has a sewn in divider. There is a padded shoulder strap and an additional strap that can be repositioned to go around the waist or under the arm if used as a crossbody.

Constructed with ballistic nylon for rugged durability, the quality of A&F gear is unsurpassed. With expansive interior compartments and sculpted shoulder straps, this bag goes where you go.

The A-Series and Performance Series backpacks and bags of the late 90’s were created with a timeless design and an incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship. Each bag, intentionally designed and constructed with purpose and mind. These bag were built to last for years and that’s what they are still around and so collectible.

I have been buying and selling vintage bags by Abercrombie and especially the A-Series bags since I purchased my first one in the 90’s. The A-20 is a premier example of Abercrombie’s craftsmanship when the company was at their last great modern prime, (in my opinion) especially with the design of these bags.

We inspect each bag that we sell. We typically keep a new, old stock bag of each model that was sold in the 90’s that we use to reference to ensure performance and functionality as well as to confirm accessories are included (if applicable). This particular bag has been completely tested, all zippers work as expected and the zippers have been cleaned and waxed to ensure many more years of use. Seems and stitching are intact. The nylon is strong and shows no signs of wear. Bag has been treated to restore stain and water resistant properties. Condition and scarcity are reflected in the price.
