The dimensions are 41 cm width and 40cm height. The width is 8 cm.

 The base is a piece of stiff plastic encased in softer black plastic and can be removed. 

I used it for quilting workshops and really any crafter might find a use for it. Its interior has a plasticky feel, so its more wipeable than washable.
