Harder to find, anodized usmc issued meritorious Service medal full size in the original packing sealed! Very nice medal. This is a full sized 24K anodized medal! It was produced by Officers Equipment Company or OEC. It is the slip on variant and has no pin back, perfect to be mounted! Condition is mint as issued and unopened! Any marks or reflection from from the plastic reflection, the medal is perfect condition. Just tough to photo!

This medal and many other modern usmc medal came from one veteran I acquired the whole set. I believe he bought them 10+ years ago at the MCX Cherry Point some of them are tagged as such. Please check out my other medal from the same lot! All are mint and sealed as purchased!

The Meritorious Service Medal has been awarded by the armed forces since 1969. It is awarded to Service members who distinguish themselves with outstanding meritorious achievement or Service to the United States. It is award by all services army, navy, marines, air force, space force & coast guard..

Originally consider a peace time award for achievement since 2004 it was been award for meritorious achievement in combat theaters also in lieu of a bronze star!

Each service awards it slightly differently, the Marine typically only award it to field grade officers - in grades O5 & O6 Lt Col & Colonel respectively. Typically with with the 1st award coming after there 1st successful command..for enlisted men it is typically only awarded too E8 or E9 master sergeant or first sergeant or respectively sergeant major or mastery gunnery sergeant.... there are some exceptions but they are rare and usually only those attached or involved w senior military command. For additional awards a gold star is added and for 5 additional awards a silver star is added!
