This daguerreotype features a blond haired light eyed teenage boy with freckles wearing a patterned tie and trousers with a stripe down the side. The image was taken by Rufus Anson in New York City on February 21, 1859. He is identified as Wm. R. Hirst(Shirst?) at age 15 years and 6 months. 

The 1/6 plate has been resealed by a previous owner and the half case measures about 3.25 x 3.75 inches. Most of the dust specks are on the glass and not the plate itself. One corner of the preserver is peeling slightly.
