VCDs are Video Compact Discs -- an alternate video format that came before DVD and which were widely popular in a number of Asian countries. The discs used are produced on CDs, rather than DVDs, so far less information can be held on a single disc. This results in two main differences between VCDs and DVDs. First, VCDs are usually issued in two discs per film, rather than a single disc for a DVD. Second, since CDs hold far less info than DVDs, the video quality for VCDs is noticeably lower than for DVDs. The typical VCD has video quality similar to a factory issued VHS tape, but below the clarity in DVDs. VCDs are usually region-free, and they can be played on most standard DVD players -- but NOT on bluray or 4K players. You will have to check the compatibility for your player. This is the official licensed release of the film -- it is NOT a bootleg or unlicensed copy. This item comes complete with discs, plastic jewel case, plus the original case-art inserts. The audio is in the Chinese language, with Chinese and English subtitles. The VCD comes from a smoke-free, climate controlled home. Also, the spindle that holds the VCDs in place inside the case has had some of the prongs break off so the discs are not held properly in the case.
