You are bidding on one Mortgage note ("Validation") of 1773 the end the Lordship of Heidegg.
Based on Gelfingen (Kt. Lucerne)where Heidegg Castle still stands today.
Felix Winckhler (= Winkler) in Gelfingen "in the compulsion of the Heydegg in the ambt Hitzkirch" confesses, "the honored rightful owner diß Brieffß" 90 guilders to be owed Lucerne currency.
To be on the safe side, he gives the "ror mathen" as a deposit. This includes 1 ½ Jucharten, the location of which is described in detail: "Push above and in front of Stathalter Jacob Widmer Mathen and Leontz (?) In Eichen (= Ineichen) sel. Heirs of Weider Hinden an that Oberfäldt. "
To confirm this, the judge Franz Joseph Ingnaz zur Gilgen pressed his seal on the letter (unfortunately this is missing here).
Felix Winkler was possibly the father of the farmer Jost Winkler and thus the grandfather of the two most famous sons of Gelfingen, the brothers Johann Winkler (1805-1863), politician, member of the government and state president of Lucerne, as well as Joseph Winkler (1809-1886), theologian and canon lawyer?
