Louis-Joseph Cavrois, born 27 June 1756 in saulty and died on 26 March 1833 in step-en-Artois1, is a French general of the Revolution and the Empire. He entered service on October 11, 1776 at 8th horse-riding Regiment where he became a brigadier on March 1 , 1780, Foroutan on September 27, 1784 and officer on September 25, 1787. On November 15, 1791, he was promoted to second lieutenant, captain on February 21, 1793 and Squadron Leader on March 5 of the same year in the 14th Regiment of Horse Hunters. On September 29, 1793, he was Adjutant-General Chief of the Provisional Brigade commanding the 14th Regiment of Hunters on horseback and on 26 Brumaire year II (16 November 1793), he was on mission in theArmy of the Pyrenees. The people's representatives make it Brigadier General on October 27, 1793, grade which is confirmed by government order on the following 6 Messidor. In theyear II, Cavrois was sent to theArmy of the Rhine but was taken prisoner and returned to France only in theyear V. He was put on reform leave in theyear IX. On 22 Messidor an IX (11 July 1801), he entered the general Staff of the Army and 19 Frimaire an XII (11 December 1803), he was made a member of the Legion of Honour while he was attached to 12th Loire-Inferior Military division. On the 25th Prairial (June 14, 1804), he was raised to the rank of Commander of the Legion of Honor. In the year XIII and XIV he served in theArmy of Naples and was employed in Spain from 1808 to the end of 1811. On July 22, 1813, he was admitted to retirement, and on August 21, 1814 King Louis XVIII made him Knight of St. Louis. General Cavrois sits for one hundred Days as a member of the Pas-de-Calais in the House of Representatives; On June 4, 1815, he was one of the Commissioners that the House of Representatives sent to the provisional Government to support the proclamations of Louis XVIII. On August 2, 1815, he travelled to Toulouse to submit to the Royal Government.
