I believe this to be a rare vintage or antique United States Army Quartermaster Corps pitcher. It is marked on base in red ink: U.S.A. Q.M.C. It is ceramic, 1 quart capacity, white color with a red trim stripe at the rim, base and down the handle. It measures approximately 6 3/8 inches tall x 6 5/8 inches long x 4.5 inches wide. This piece shows its age with overall crazing, staining (probably from liquid left in it) and a hairline crack (under 1 inch in length) at the rim of the piece (see pic 9). Still a great piece of US military history! (The Quartermaster Corps is the U.S. Army's oldest logistics branch, established 16 June 1775.) I wish I could tell you how old it is but I just can't find a similar piece, even using Google images. It is probably rare to have a ceramic piece like this survive for this long. A wonderful piece for your collection or a gift for a military history fan. I will double box this pitcher to help keep it safe during shipping. Thanks!
