Propeller Transall C-160
The Transall C-160 is a Franco-German high-wing transport plane from the Cold War and modern times. The prototype flight took place in 1963, and the machine was produced in 1965-1985. In total, about 220 examples of this aircraft were built. In the basic version - C-160 - the machine is 32.4 m long with a wingspan of 40 meters. The machine has no on-board armament.
The Transall C-160 Gabriel was designed and manufactured by the Transporter Allianz consortium of MBB, Aerospatiale and VFW-Fokker. The plane was created primarily for the use of the French and German air forces as the most modern medium-range transport plane possible. It is worth adding that the French Armee de L'air wanted to replace the Nord Noratlas aircraft, and its successor was to be the C-160.
