Vintage Anglo-Indian Hand-Carved Folding Side Table

A teak lamp or wine table with Colonial Art Deco taste, dating to the mid-20th century,

Circa 1940s.

This is a charming vintage circular side table, with an enthusiastically carved appearance.

Expressively shaped quad legs, profusely decorated with flowers and vine motifs

Offering a sturdy surface and wonderfully decorative

Impressive and ornate hand-carved designs come alive.

The round table top showcases a floral design surrounded by hand-carved vines, flowers and intricate patterns.

It sits atop a quad base, featuring a striking impression of what appears to be an elephant head and trunk and terminating in square cut feet.

It has a pointed finial in the centre of the table base

This piece comes apart and the quad base is hinged so it folds into itself, making it an occasional table.

2 screws hold the top to the base

Table measures 62cm Dia Top x 59cm H x 2.5cm Thick

It has the maker card "Ahmed Joo - Kashmir Art Manufacturer" taped in place underneath (pictured)

The wood looks to be teak, I am not 100% positive

Has a repair on one of the feet (pictured)

6 carved flowers on the centre edge have broken off at some time (pictured)

2 tiny petals on the flower on the outer rim have also broken off (pictured)

Solid joints and construction

The table would benefit from some waxed and polished
