Named after the sci-fi film Westworld, the was formed in 1986 by former Generation X guitarist Bob "Derwood" Andrews and American vocalist Elizabeth Westwood, with the line up completed by drummer Nick Burton. Visually the band were styled in a way reminiscent of comic book art and musically they were a blend of classic 1950s rock and roll, glam and punk, updated with beatboxes and sequencer. They had an early success with their debut single "Sonic Boom Boy", which reached #11 in the UK Singles Chart in February 1987 and was used in Sony's advertisements. They had one more Top 40 hit, "Ba-Na-Na-Bam-Boo" which reached #37 in May the same year. They released three albums before moving to the Arizona desert in the US in 1992 to form the band Moondogg.
This limited edition is a 'double grooved' 4-track 10" and, as stated on the sleeve "both sides of this limited edition have 2 concentric grooves, with completely different tracks." Depending on where you drop the needle, this means you will get either "Silver Mac" or "Sonic Boom Boy" on Side A and either "Steel Toed Engineer" or "Fly Westworld" on Side B. All great fun unless you keep getting the wrong track playing, I imagine!

The sleeve is VG+ and shows just generally minor signs of age, with slight storage outer rim record-shaped impression and a couple of small related 'ripples' (top middle and near bottom at about 5 o'clock) - please see pictures above. The record is visually VG with some light/very light and hairline surface marks dotted about to each side - nothing major at all and NO deep or feelable marks or scratches.

Please see all pictures above an if you have any questions or need any more info., don't hesitate to get in touch

Cover and labels are as seen in the pictures above (actual item shown) - see below for record grading, which obviously applies to records which have been played ONLY!

Please note that all vinyl is visually graded under a bright halogen bulb - it is only play-graded if specifically stated.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THE FOLLOWING

1) Remember that I can send up to 30 x 7" singles in the UK for only £3.95 (Royal Mail 2nd Class), any other quantities or formats please get in touch first. IF YOU WIN MORE THAN ONE ITEM, PLEASE WAIT FOR MY COMBINED INVOICE BEFORE PAYING - IF YOU PAY FOR EACH ITEM SEPARATELY I CANNOT REFUND THE EXCESS IN FULL DUE TO EBAY FEES!

2) All records come in a sleeve - a picture cover, a company sleeve (original or, if stated, a new repro) or a plain white or black paper or card sleeve. Covers and labels are as seen in the pictures above (actual item always shown) - see below for record grading, which obviously applies to records which have been played ONLY! Visual gradings are as above.

3) I consider a surface mark or a surface scuff to be mark(s) which you can see but that are on the top surface of the record only and as such are 'non-feelable'. If you can actually feel a mark - for example, with a finger nail - then I would consider that to be a 'scratch' which would likely cause 'ticks', 'clicks' etc. during play. Any such marks will be clearly mentioned above.

4) Due to time constraints, all vinyl is visually graded under a bright halogen bulb - it is only play-graded if specifically stated.

Please see all pictures above and if you have any questions or need any more info., don't hesitate to get in touch.

VINYL GRADING

NEW: note that still sealed items will be presumed to be in 'new' condition, but are obviously sold as seen. Any visible signs of wear/storage etc. beneath the shrinkwrap will be mentioned.

MINT: note please note that I will NEVER use the 'MINT' grade, as I think you are asking for trouble! The highest grade for an item that is not new will use will be NM (Near Mint).

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in very close to 'as new' condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in almost perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played a number of times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and maybe some occasional light scratches. If there is any surface noise it will be occasional, light and unobtrusive. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has obviously been played a lot and while it still plays through OK, it will have a lot of surface marks and/or light scratches (maybe also the occasional 'feelable' scratch) and most likely there there will be regular and noticeable surface noise. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine and/or seam splits, discoloration, etc.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

*Important* - the ONLY countries I will send to by uninsured mail (for item(s)under £20) are as follows: -

  • UK.
  • Europe (EU countries ONLY and Norway).
  • USA and Canada.
  • Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

If you live anywhere else then your parcel MUST be insured, the cost of which is to be covered by the buyer. Very sorry, but NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.

If you live in a country that I am prepared to send by regular, uninsured mail please bear in mind that I always get a receipt and proof of posting for every item sent, but THERE WILL NOT BE A TRACKING NUMBER UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR INSURED/TRACKED MAIL. Should an item take longer than expected to arrive, I will do everything I can to help, but please don't assume that there is a tracking number! Most overseas buyers seem to assume this, for some reason! If you want the item to be tracked, please choose the International Signed and/or Signed & Tracked service option at checkout - thanks!

Finally, please note that if your item (or if the combined values of the items in a single parcel) is £20.00 or above, then insurance is compulsory wherever you live. This is extra for 'Signed For' in the UK (up to the value of £50, after which extra cover will need to be paid for by the buyer) or via International Signed and/or Signed & Tracked for overseas buyers. In this case, PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE BEFORE PAYING - any incorrect payments will be refunded and reinvoiced - sorry, but no exceptions. Blame Brexit and increasingly dodgy mail services!
