Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing.

This is Meyer Bros NY 5 millimeter (0.1 inches) for alto mouthpiece.
It's famous for Cannonball Adderley, the jazz alto legend Cannonball Adderley.
Cannonball himself is said to have used a 5 millimeter (0.1 inches), and because his shank broke early in his career, it is said that he reinforced it with a metal shank ring at some point in his early career.
From the earliest photos, you can see the 5 millimeter (0.1 inches) without the ring.
This Meyer was manufactured at a factory in New York around 1950, and its distinctive feature is the word Bros. on the logo.
The lack of the word Chamber and the engraved MEDIUM on the front of the shank indicate that this is an early example of Meyer Bros.
Aside from the Parker Metal, this mouthpiece is the rarest and most practical of the mouthpieces in circulation, and it's vintage.
When the previous owner had it measured before, it was .071 or .072 (Meyer no. 5 exactly), so both visually and by actual measurement the previous owner can see that it is a perfect original 5MM.
This is a divine mouthpiece that you can see why it is said to be the best in all aspects such as the highest quality materials, excellent sound, blowing feel, and response.
When the previous owner got this mouthpiece, it was looking wonderful, and it is was a one-of-a-kind mouthpiece.
As this is a vintage item, there are marks on the body and rails.
There is no problem with playing.
The body is slightly thicker than the current model, so thin ligatures such as Selmer cannot be used.
Please use a Meyer ligature that can accommodate thicker strands.
Comes with Meyer Bros. original box.
The box has signs of wear due to storage.
