Old violin by Alexander Gagliani, the first generation of the famous Gagliani family of the Neapolitan school in Italy.
A repair label is attached indicating that it was repaired by Otto Schmetz (Ingolstadt, Germany) in 1906.
This is a piece with a deep brown varnish that gives it an old look.
It has high arches, but not as high as the Steiner model.
The body is a little smaller at 353 millimeter (13.8 inches), and the string length is also shorter.
The size is about between 7/8 and 4/4.
Raising the neck (adding a geta under the fingerboard) makes the neck a little thicker.
It has been extensively repaired in the past as shown by the repair label.
There is no evidence that the neck was spliced ​​on the peg box side, and angle were adjusted at the base of the body.
