Small Antique Australian Cedar Money Coin Box Marquetry Top - needs work 21cm
It is cheap because I would like to see someone restore this and give it another life.
There are coin slots on each end of the box lid.
The lid does not close because the hinges are too tight and there is no lock.
It appears to be fully cedar but it is also veneered and there is some wear to the veneer on the corners and along the front edge..
21cm x 11.5cm wide x 9cm tall.
The pattern on the top has 2 different wood grains and I think it is inlayed (parquetry) but it could be really clever paint job.
When I cleaned it, the dirt came off but the pattern did not get damaged.
