1:43 Scale - Approx. 9cm Length

Solido is a French manufacturer of diecast models that can trace its roots back to the 1930s, and has focused primarily on 1:43 scale since 1957. In 1981 management of the company was taken over by Emile Veron, who was already very experienced in diecast production, having founded the Norev company (Veron backwards) with his brothers, before later gaining independence and founding the famous French diecast maker Majorette.

Solido's range of 1:43 scale models set new standards in quality and detail, and in 1961 Solido were the first manufacturer to include opening doors on a model car.

This model depicts a Lancia 037, in Rally livery, and it features opening doors. The The Rally 037 was created to meet the Group B regulations that came into force at the beginning of 1982. To qualify for Group B, the cars had to be produced in at least 200 specimens with 2-seater configuration. For the rallies, the Fiat Group considered various possibilities and in the end the decision was to rely on the Lancia Beta Montecarlo. Thus the SE037 project was born. The 037 was entered in rallies from 1983, continuing its career until 1985 and beyond with private teams.
