Description: A creamware monteith made by Wedgwood for the Bailey Banks and Biddle jewelry store of Philadelphia, this is the Franklin Bowl, a sort of companion piece for their Philadelphia Bowl. It is decorated with transfer printing, with two portraits of Benjamin Franklin on the sides and a view of the American Philosophical Society to the interior bottom. The decorations are designed by Allan Price, drawn from the collection of the Philosophical Society (as the decoration of the Philadelphia Bowl were drawn from the Pennsylvania Historical Society's archives).

Mark: Impressed Wedgwood marks, dated 1960. Large printed informational backstamp. 

ConditionSoiling to foot rim, some frit in glaze inside teeth on rim; generally near fine, no wear or damage, no chips cracks breaks or repairs.
